Injury: Right ring finger inflammation
IL date: May 19 (15-day IL, retroactive to May 18)
Expected return: June
Status: Threw a bullpen session June 7 and felt fine. Has not yet been able to throw his changeup without irritation but will try to mix them into his next throwing session. Team is "cautiously optimistic ... we'll get him back sooner rather than later," GM Jeff Greenberg told MLB Network Radio. (Updated June 8)
RHP Alex Cobb
Injury: Right hip inflammation
IL date: March 27 (15-day IL, transferred to 60-day IL on May 30)
Expected return: Possibly late June
Status: Threw 2 1/3 hitless innings in his second rehab start for High-A West Michigan on June 6. Felt “incrementally better” with his hip, according to manager A.J. Hinch. Will throw a bullpen session in Detroit before making another rehab start. (Updated June 7)
RHP José Urquidy
Injury: Recovery from Tommy John surgery
IL date: March 8 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Possibly late 2025
Status: Underwent Tommy John surgery in June 2024. Completed his latest bullpen session, about 20 pitches, on June 5. Will ramp up his workload in coming days, according to manager A.J. Hinch. (Updated June 7)

Injury: Recovery from lat surgery
IL date: Feb. 12 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Sometime this season
Status: Scheduled to throw a bullpen session on June 7. (Updated June 6)
OF/3B Matt Vierling
Injury: Right shoulder inflammation
IL date: May 27 (10-day IL)

Status: Received an injection on June 5 to address lingering inflammation. Expected to resume baseball activities soon. (Updated June 6)
SS Bryce Rainer (Tigers No. 3 prospect, MLB No. 44 overall)
Injury: Dislocated right shoulder
Expected return: 2026
Status: Will undergo season-ending surgery after dislocating his shoulder diving back to first base in a June 3 game for Single-A Lakeland. Expected to be a full participant in Spring Training next year. (Updated June 6)
RHP Jason Foley
Injury: Recovery from right shoulder surgery
IL date: June 2 (60-day IL)
Expected return: 2026
Status: Underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in May after being sidelined at Triple-A Toledo. Called up by Tigers and placed on 60-day injured list on June 2 to open a 40-man roster spot. (Updated June 6)
RHP Jackson Jobe
Injury: Right flexor strain
IL date: May 29 (15-day IL)
Expected return: Possibly after All-Star break
Status: Placed on injured list after reporting discomfort in elbow following his start vs. Giants on May 28. Tests indicated a Grade 1 (mild) strain of flexor tendon. Will rest for at least a couple weeks before being re-evaluated. (Updated May 30) More >>

Injury: Right rotator cuff strain

Status: Completing rehab daily, according to Tigers. Threw to hitters, including Matt Vierling, on April 25 at the Tigers' Spring Training facility in Lakeland, Fla. (Updated May 9)
